1. Agreement

By accessing or using FuelEcon (the "Service"), operated by o87 Enterprises / TruegleAi ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The service

FuelEcon is a free, browser-based set of calculators that help users estimate vehicle fuel economy, trip costs, and related metrics. The Service is provided for general informational purposes only.

3. Estimates, not guarantees

FuelEcon provides estimates, not guarantees. All numbers produced by our calculators are based on averages from public data sources (including EPA fuel economy data and EIA gas prices) and the information you enter. Real-world fuel use depends on many factors we cannot account for, including driving style, weather, traffic, elevation changes, vehicle condition, and cargo weight.

You should not rely on FuelEcon's output for decisions with significant financial, legal, or safety consequences without independent verification. For example, don't rent a U-Haul on the strength of one trip estimate without checking a second source.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Scrape, mirror, or systematically download our content beyond reasonable personal use.
  • Use automated tools to overload our third-party services (geocoding, routing, tile servers).
  • Misrepresent FuelEcon output or attribute fabricated numbers to FuelEcon.
  • Use the Service to build a competing commercial product without our written permission.

5. Intellectual property

The FuelEcon name, logo, design, user interface, and original code are the property of o87 Enterprises / TruegleAi. You may not use our brand assets without written permission.

Where we use open-source libraries or open data (Leaflet, OpenStreetMap, EPA data, EIA data), those assets are used under their respective licenses and remain the property of their creators.

You retain ownership of any content you enter into the Service. By entering data, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

6. Third-party services

FuelEcon integrates with third-party services, including Cloudflare (hosting), Google AdSense (advertising), and OpenStreetMap ecosystem tools (maps and routing). Your use of features that rely on these services is also subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services' availability, accuracy, or conduct.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, O87 ENTERPRISES / TRUEGLEAI AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless o87 Enterprises / TruegleAi and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. The sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (disclaimers, liability limits, governing law, intellectual property) will survive.

11. Changes to terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. The updated version will be reflected in the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which o87 Enterprises / TruegleAi is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws require otherwise.
